• Battery may be low or dead – Replace the battery OR if rechargeable device, place on recharger.
• Device may not be switched on – Switch on the hearing device or check the battery door is properly closed.
• Sound channel may be blocked – Clean the sound channel or replace the wax protection system.

• You may be close to interference from an electromagnetic field, such as a digital or cellular tower – Try moving away from the electromagnetic field and make sure your hearing device is on the correct program.

• You may not be on the correct setting – Check the volume control and programs to make sure it is correctly set.
• You may have excessive earwax – Contact your G.P.
• Your hearing may have deteriorated – Contact your Audika clinic.

• You may have excessive earwax – Contact your G.P.
• Hearing aid/s may not be sitting properly – Reinsert the hearing device and check if it is inserted correctly using a mirror.
• Hearing aid/s may be loose – Contact your Audika clinic.
• Tubing may be split if it is a behind-the-ear hearing aid/s – Take it to your Audika clinic for a repair which can be done over the counter.

Remove your hearing aids from the water as soon as possible and follow these steps:

1. Open the battery door and remove the battery.
2. Dry the hearing aid with a towel and shake it gently to get the water out.
3. Leave the hearing aid to dry for one to two days, depending on the amount of water in the hearing aid. Make sure that the battery door is open and if you have one, use a hearing aid dehumidifier for this purpose.
4. If this doesn’t help, contact us so we can send the hearing aid to the manufacturer for repair. If your hearing aid/s is under warranty, it will cover the cost of the repair of the hearing aid; otherwise, repair charges may apply.

Firstly, most modern hearing aids automatically adjust the volume based on the environment around you (i.e., quiet vs. loud environments).

If you would like to adjust the volume manually, the following can be done for behind-the-ear and in-the-ear hearing aids:

• Behind-the-ear hearing aids: The volume can easily be adjusted by pushing a button on the back of the hearing aid. The exact adjustment instructions will vary depending on your hearing aid model, so read your device’s instructions for more details.
• In-the-ear hearing aids: Remove the hearing aid from inside your ear and find the volume button to adjust the volume.
• Additionally, some hearing aids are accompanied by an app where you can adjust your hearing aid volume from your phone app.

Yes. When you get your hearing aids fitted for the first time, the hearing care expert will program your hearing aids to the sound settings that suit you best. These settings can always be reprogrammed or adjusted in case you feel that some of the sound settings are not working for you.
